Why Governments & Utilities Need iSIU™ Tech
Why are wildfires happening
Some of the the deadliest wildfires in state history occurred due to equipment defects or vegetation encroachment. The likelihood of these incidents are further exacerbated with changing climactic conditions and aging infrastructure.
Current Solutions
Current solutions include on-foot manual inspections to check wire defects, infrequent monitoring technologies (Lidar, satellite, drone), or early detection technologies - which alert first responders for faster mitigation of wildfire, but there are no fool proof solutions for prevention.
Need of the hour
Sensors at the grid level that can detect these vegetation and equipment failures before ignitions.
iSIU™
The patented Green Grid iSIU™ does just that. It enables condition-based asset and vegetation management with automated early detection of power line physical failures, vegetation encroachment and ignition hazards to prevent utility ignited catastrophic wildfires. First, it combines sensors at the grid level that focus on proactively alerting in case of equipment failures so they can be rectified and prevent the situation from getting worse at all. Secondly, It also combines this prevention with detection and alerting features as well as vegetation management - providing one comprehensive solution to utility companies.
